To us, clean water is a foregone conclusion. But do we ever stop to wonder about all the things we actually need it for? In celebration of Finland’s centennial year, we set out to seek what water means to all of us. Twelve photographers providing their own perspective on the theme. These series led us to explore people and phenomena from within the nature to the inner city. Water unites people, refreshes, entertains and is an essential part of the natural cycle.

This calendar project continues a tradition that started in the 1970’s. Profits from the project will go towards a educational trip of the photography students of Lahti Institute of Design.
